Something big might be under the surface at Besra’s Jugan Gold Project

Gold intersections from the last two holes, JUDDH-95 and 98 cap off the 1,800m drilling program and further endorse Jugan’s depth potential.

At hole JUDDH-98, Besra Gold (ASX:BEZ) hit more than 75m of mineralisation with results returning 22m at 2.60g/t gold from surface to 22m, 17m at 1.46g/t gold from 26m to 43m, 29m at 2.88g/t gold from 45m to 74m as well as 6m at 7.12g/t gold from 65m to 71m.

Meanwhile, hole JUDDH-95 intersected more than 45m of mineralisation and returned 45m at 1.76g/t gold from surface to 45m, as well as 3m at 2.90g/t gold from 1m to 4m and 3m at 4.04g/t gold from 31m to 34m.

Besra says both holes represent true thicknesses and reflect the consistency of mineralisation from surface, involving grades substantially higher than average global grades previously estimated based on historical assays.

Exceptional grades

“The exceptional grade intercepts by JUDDH-95 and 98, virtually continuously from surface and nearly 200m NE of the main mineralised body outcrop, strengthens our belief that the 2021-2022 drilling program results will confirm higher global grades,” BEZ CEO Dr Ray Shaw says.

“They also further endorse the Jugan Project’s stand-alone development potential.”

Next step – geological model review

A total of 17 holes were drilling during the 2021- 2022 program, providing additional sub-surface control across the Jugan Hill and its flanks, a footprint characterised by shallow mineralisation, as well as the potential for deeper mineralisation along the plunging NE limb

The mineralisation in both holes – JUDDH-95 and 98 is contained within the interval between the lower footwall thrust and the hanging roof thrust.

Recognising the consistency and correlating these structural boundaries provides reliable, and predictable controls for the revision of Jugan’s geological model and future pit modelling, which can now be completed.
