SI6 Metals’ has generated multiple drill targets from first batch of a 34-line AMT survey across the Dibete, Airstrip and Maibele North prospects at its Maibele base metals project in Botswana.
The company is exploring for base and precious metals within the Limpopo Mobile Belt, a district known for hosting major nickel and copper producing operations.
Results still pending for Airstrip and Maibele North, but data from Dibete retuned numerous high quality untested anomalies beneath and along strike from known mineralisation
SI6 Metals (ASX:SI6) is confident that the AMT surveys accurately map existing sulphide mineralisation and plans to incorporate the new targets into its upcoming drilling program.
Multiple high-quality targets identified
The company’s Botswana portfolio contains an advanced nickel-copper-cobalt-PGE resource at Maibele North and previously drilled high-grade copper-silver discoveries at Airstrip and Dibete.
“The AMT survey model we are using in Botswana has proven yet again that it is a very successful model in identifying targets for drilling programs. We are excited to start drilling these as soon as possible.” Si6 executive chairman Patrick Holywell said.
“With the results in now for Dibete, we can clearly see that multiple high-quality targets exist both beneath and along strike from known mineralisation.
“We are currently in the final stages of completing our targeting exercises for the upcoming drill program at Dibete and will update the market accordingly.
“We eagerly await the results from the AMT survey at Airstrip and Maibele North.”
Messina Copper-style mineralisation
Results from lines 3-7 have delivered a strong AMT response modelled as a vertical, pipe-like body which is geometrically similar to the breccia-pipe style of copper mineralisation in the Messina Copper district.
The company is confident that this further supports its interpretation of the potential for Dibete to host Messina Copper-style mineralisation – and this will be a high priority target in the upcoming drill campaign.
