Peregrine Gold ramps up hunt for gold and iron ore in WA

  • PGD refines promising gold targets for drilling at Newman project
  • Heritage survey over Hemi style targets at Mallina wraps up
  • Company gears up for reconnaissance and sampling at Coopers CID discovery

Special Report: Peregrine Gold has ramped up exploration across its Newman gold and iron ore project and Mallina gold project in northwest WA.

The company, which is backed by premier prospector and resources investor Mark Creasy, is hunting for gold and iron ore at Newman, and for gold in a highly prospective region at Mallina.

At Newman, preliminary 4m splits from aircore drilling at the Epithermal prospect highlight an expanding area of anomalous gold. These will be submitted for further analysis to refine targets for follow up.

Plus, Peregrine Gold (ASX:PGD) has defined new large-scale zones of anomalous gold-in-soils at the Epithermal East prospect.

The company said the gold values in soil were highly significant for this region and it was planning infill and extensional soil sampling.

At the Birdsnest prospect, a new drill target has been defined following interpretation of an Induced Polarisation survey. The company plans to drill test this in the near future.

Iron ore has emerged as a potential opportunity at the Coopers Channel Iron Deposit (CID) North discovery.

Preliminary Specific Gravity results have been received averaging 3.2 and a field crew is gearing up to start ground reconnaissance and sampling.

Doubling down on Mallina drill targets

Meanwhile, a heritage survey has been completed at Mallina gold project, with several Hemi style targets in the spotlight for future drilling.

The company is finalising logistical arrangements to progress targets to drilling subject to receiving the final heritage clearance report.

“Today’s update continues to demonstrate the prospectivity of Peregrine tenure,” technical director George Merhi said.

“We look forward to providing further updates at our Newman gold and iron ore project as well as commencing drilling at our Mallina gold project, subject to receiving the final heritage clearance report.”
