- Heap leach test averages exceed industry benchmarks, validating methodology
- Drilling and permitting efforts continue in parallel
- Results from 10 RC holes pending from James prospect with grade control drilling to follow
Special Report: The majority of OzAurum’s heap leach feasibility study tests have convincingly exceeded industry benchmarks, advancing Mulgabbie North gold with further work on the low-cost processing method.
OzAurum Resources’ (ASX:OZM) results averaged about 59,900 L/hr/m2 over 34 of 55 percolation tests, exceeding industry benchmarks of ~10, 000 L/hr/m2 more than five-fold.
The tests validate OZM’s plans to develop a low-cost scalable heap leach operation as a first-stage starter at Mulgabbie North with the goal of unlocking near-term gold production in a premier WA gold district.
OZM managing director and CEO Andrew Pumphrey said the consistently high percolation flow rates with ore from James prospect was extremely encouraging, strongly supporting the potential for a successful heap leach operation.
“With this technical milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to the next critical phase – column testwork – which will provide key data on gold recoveries and further derisk the project’s development pathway,” he said.
“We are also advancing rapidly on Stages 1, 2 and 3 site layouts and design works to ensure we are well-positioned for permitting and future construction.
“In parallel, we are eagerly awaiting the assay results from our latest 10-hole RC drill program at Mulgabbie North, which aims to define the near-surface high-grade zone and support early-stage heap leach production opportunities.”

Drilling and permitting at Mulgabbie North
Alongside its feasibility studies, OzAurum is awaiting assays from 10 reverse circulation holes drilled at Mulgabbie North’s James prospect.
Once assays are in hand, OzAurum will return to the James prospect for grade control drilling with the goal of defining a shallow, high-grade stage 1 starter inventory.
The company has also secured a diamond drilling rig to collect metallurgical core samples at James, targeting high-grade gold zones.
In parallel, OZM is advancing permitting and refining its site layout for stage 1 and stage2/3 development of Mulgabbie North.
OzAurum is working with Kappes, Cassiday & Associates Australia on its stage 1 and 2 heap leach operation site layout to support the approval process.
The company is designing a 2-million-tonne heap leach facility for stage 2 and 3 development at Mulgabbie North, with the goal of playing into a very favourable gold production environment.
Gold futures hit a new record high on October 8, briefly touching US$4063 per ounce.
