Over 500m of REE mineralisation has been identified from the first diamond hole at MTM Critical Metals’ Pomme rare earths-niobium project in Quebec, Canada.

The first of 10 diamond holes being drilled, POM-23-01 was completed 558m downhole and collared ~100m north of a historical drillhole that intersected in excess of 500m of rare earth element (REE) niobium (Nb) mineralisation.

The REE mineralisation has been identified by the geologists on-site, who have extensive prior experience with the geology of the Montviel REE-Nb deposit located approximately 7km south of Pomme.

The initial assessment is part of a 5,000m first-pass drilling campaign to test the carbonite complex and known historical REE-Nb mineralisation.

MTM Critical Metals (ASX:MTM) managing director Lachlan Reynolds said the first hole results were a vindication of the team’s confidence that this drilling campaign at the Pomme project could have potential for making a major new rare earth element and niobium deposit discovery.

“We are extremely excited by the results of this first diamond drill hole,” Reynolds said.

“Not only has it intersected prospective carbonatite rocks but it also appears to be continuously mineralised over a 500+ metre interval and based on the visual estimates may contain a number of zones containing significant REE grade.

“We are now eagerly waiting for the results of assays and getting samples to the laboratory in Canada is a high priority.

“The Kintavar exploration team managing the exploration program on-site are congratulated for delivering this excellent result, which comes only 3 months after signing the option agreement over the project.”

Drilling is ongoing and the second hole is underway.
