TechGen Metals’ commitment to modern geophysics at its ground in WA’s Ashburton Basin is paying off by identifying a catalogue of flagship targets from airborne surveys.
TechGen Metals (ASX:TG1) is the first company to apply modern geophysics to the three prospective exploration projects in WA’s north.
The explorer already has confidence in the deep mineral potential of the projects, where high grade rock chip samples of up to 48.7% copper & 119g/t silver confirmed copper sulphide mineralisation at surface.
Now, preliminary data from a VTEM Max survey over its Mt Boggola project shows three strong and discrete late time electromagnetic conductors.
TechGen believes the three conductors are all based in “areas of favourable geological setting, magnetic and structural contact complexity”.
Mt Boggola is located 60km south of Paraburdoo in the same rich mineral domain that includes Northern Star Resources’ 1.2Moz Paulsens gold mine.
Even closer to Paulsens to the north-west is Blue Rock Valley, where a 600x600m bedrock conductor dipping north-east within the regionally significant Talga fault has conductance levels considered to be within the range of copper-lead-zinc mineralisation.
More ground EM surveys are due to assess that and other conductors identified at Blue Rock Valley, as well as areas where copper was historically mined.
Follow up EM on the way
Copper has been one of the best performing metals in recent times.
That point has obviously not escaped TechGen MD Ashley Hood, with more field EM surveys to take place to assess the targets across Mt Boggola and Blue Rock Valley and drilling likely to take place by the end of 2021.

“Copper is the world’s third largest metal market, with strong demand and price nearing record highs.
“Quality late time bedrock conductors are just what the Company was hoping for in areas of favourable geological settings with well mineralised gossans and little to no previous geophysics completed.
“We now have field EM crews booked, structural geological mapping planned and heritage surveys booked, all aiming to drill test these targets by years end.”
Station Valley anomalies also abound
Station Valley lies between Mt Boggola and Blue Rock Valley and has been the subject of airborne magnetic and VTEM Max surveys.
Airborne magnetics indicated a magnetic high coincident with a northwest – southeast trending fault and an area of previous high-grade copper, silver and gold rock chip anomalism.
Analysis of a rock sample that previously returned 54.7% copper & 257g/t silver has indicated the presence of copper sulphide and copper arsenate minerals at surface.
Geological mapping and Gradient Array Induced Polarisation surveys are being planned to follow these results up further.
