Special Report: Many Peaks Minerals has commenced a >5000m aircore drill drive at its Odienné gold project in Côte d’Ivoire, Africa, with the aim of assessing priority targets identified earlier this year.
Recent auger drilling work, mapping and high resolution airborne geophysical datasets have all been combined to highlight three priority 5-6km zones at the project.
Those zones sit within over 30km of identified anomalous gold trends in the same corridor that hosts Predictive Discovery’s (ASX:PDI) 5.4Moz Bankan gold deposit and Robex Resources’ (TSXV:RBX) 1.5Moz Kiniero gold project in neighbouring Guinea.
The targets also adjoin a recent discovery by the Awalé Resources/Newmont joint venture.
Many Peaks Minerals (ASX:MPK) says all these regional discoveries point to Odienné as an emerging gold and gold-copper district located along trend from the >10Moz gold district in Guinea.
In addition, an auger campaign is nearing completion at the company’s 300km2 Ferké gold project, also in Côte d’Ivoire.
The project area has seen substantial previous exploration activity confirming gold mineralisation including 45.3m at 3.16g/t gold from 45.9m, and 39.7m at 3.54g/t gold from 51.4m.
But there’s been limited follow-up work. This auger campaign was designed to delineate extensional targets in open gold mineralisation and will wrap up this week, with results expected in the coming month.
A diamond drilling program is planned for January at the Ouarigue South prospect.
The company notes it has a strong cash balance of $6.8 million as at 30 September 2024, and that both Odienné and Ferké fully funded for further follow-up diamond and RC drilling based on the results of current programs.
