Kula’s recent drone magnetic survey has defined an intriguing ‘eye structure’ at its Westonia project, just 5km from the 2Moz Edna May gold mine in WA.
This is a positive step forward in the company’s search for platinum group elements (PGE), nickel, copper and gold at the project, given that similar eye structures host mafic-ultramafic intrusive complexes such as the Nova in the Albany-Fraser Orogen region.
Airborne helicopter VTEM has also defined three conductors at various channels and generated drill targets coincident with PGE, nickel, copper and gold anomalism.
“What an exciting grass roots prospect that the Company is about to drill test at the Westonia Project adjacent to the ~2moz Edna May Gold Mine,” Kula Gold (ASX:KGD) chief executive officer Ric Dawson said.
“Our team has acquired, processed and now interpreted three different forms of exploration techniques to develop a model to target and commence drilling this week.”
Surveys
The company had engaged UTS Geophysics for the VTEM survey and chose to acquire a further 30 line kilometres to infill to 100m line spacing after receiving initial positive indications.
Further modelling of the electromagnetic data is in progress.
Meanwhile, the drone magnetics was flown at a 25m line spacing.
The company has already received auger geochemical results of up to 125 parts per billion (ppb) platinum and palladium and up to 35ppb gold.
