Infinity Stone is continuing to build up its land position, reaching an option agreement to acquire more ground to the northwest of its Hellcat project in Quebec.

The agreement will add 1,336ha to the project, taking its total area to over 5,187ha, and increase its count of pegmatite occurrences by five.

It also follows on the company’s recent expansion of its Galaxy Lithium project near Mont Laurier, Quebec.

Hellcat is part of Infinity Stone Venture’s broader Camaro project adjacent to Patriot Battery Metal’s (PMET) Corvette Lithium Discovery in James Bay, Quebec.

The new northern claim block is underlain by 9km of strike length of underexplored greenstone and metasediments of the Rouget formation, an attractive exploration target which is geologically similar and proximal to the Guyer Group greenstone that hosts the PMET Corvette Pegmatites.

The company recently started initial sampling, mapping and assessment of 21 identified pegmatites across the Taiga, Hellcat and Camaro property blocks (projects) and to find new pegmatites.

Exploration program

This exploration has been successful in confirming historically mapped pegmatites and identified new showings with 87 samples collected over 3,850ha adjacent to Patriot.

Notably, this identified a cluster of highly prospective pegmatitic dykes and cross cutting structures near the northern margin of the Hellcat claims extending to the north, into the newly acquired claim area.

The white, coarse grained, pegmatite dykes in this area were mineralogically characterised by tourmaline, garnet, and muscovite which are common LCT (Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum) pegmatite indicator minerals in the district.

“Following our recent Fall Program, we moved quickly to expand our footprint and focus on the most prospective areas of the Camaro Project in James Bay,” chief executive officer Zayn Kalyan said.

“The identification of tourmaline, garnet, and muscovite, in pegmatites on the expanded Hellcat have given us an area of considerable interest and will be critical to our exploration program moving forward.”
