Hartshead Resources has launched a pre-qualification process for the Anning and Somerville gas fields platform and jacket Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) contract in the UK Southern Gas Basin.
The aim of the pre-qualification process is to confirm the contractor’s capability in providing a suitable facilities solution and installation package that can meet the project requirements.
It will also confirm possible schedule options including either complete topsides and jacket programs and identify any critical long lead bulk/equipment items.
On the road to first gas
“Our Phase I development project has matured significantly over the last two years and there is no better illustration of this than by starting the tendering process for the construction and installation of two offshore platforms for the Anning and Sommerville gas fields,” Hartshead Resources (ASX:HHR) CEO Chris Lewis said.
“Each of these key milestones are all another step on the road to first gas.
“It is a testament to the team that we are still on track for entering the project execution phase in Q3 this year.”
Notably, the company has also joined the leading representative body for UK offshore energy industries, Offshore Energies UK (OEUK).
The aim of the OEUK is to promote the UK offshore energy industry, acts as a source of information for the UK upstream industry and as a gateway for industry networking and expertise.
Contract award expected in Q3
The company has already compiled an initial ‘Long List’ of eight contractors, based in the United Kingdom and European Union, with a track record in project knowledge of UK Southern Gas Basin fabrication.
An Invitation To Tender (ITT) will be issued following a shortlisting of the pre-qualified contractors which is expected to occur during Q2 2023.
The Anning and Somerville Platform and Jacket EPIC contract is expected to be awarded in Q3 2023 – following completion of the Phase I development FEED and geotechnical site survey of the platform locations scheduled for April 2023.
