Golden Mile Resources returns high-grade gold in Aurora samples

  • Results up to 29.3g/t gold returned in rock chip sampling at Aurora
  • The assays also returned 36g/t silver and 1.59% lead
  • More sampling and mapping planned to delineate the extent of gold mineralisation

Special Report: Rock chip sampling by Golden Mile Resources at Aurora prospect has returned up to 29.3g/t, marking the highest gold grades achieved to date at the Pearl copper project in Arizona

As well as gold, the sampling returned 36g/t silver and 1.59% lead, demonstrating the multi-element potential of Pearl.

Results surpass the initial assays released in January 2025, which returned values up to 10.8g/t gold and 33.9g/t silver.

Aurora prospect is centred on a cluster of historical mine workings, about 800m east of the Odyssey copper prospect.

Golden Mile Resources’ (ASX:G88) believes the results add to the highly promising exploration target that is developing at Aurora.

The gold potential is yet to be fully realised but additional mapping and surface geochemical programs are planned to delineate the extent of the mineralisation.

‘Significant gold target’

G88 managing director Damon Dormer said Aurora continued to progress as a significant gold target based on initial sampling, mapping and now the rock chip results.

“Work will continue to advance the Aurora gold prospect in addition to delineating further targets within the Pearl copper project,” he said.

Pearl sits within the San Manuel mining district, Pinal County, Arizona, 40km northeast of Tucson, and within the world-class Laramide porphyry copper province.

The area is part of the prolific Southwestern North American porphyry copper province, which accounted for 70% of total US copper production in 2023.

Despite prolific evidence of surface mineralisation and its location immediately north of BHP’s San Manuel-Kalamazoo mine, one of the largest deposits in the Laramide porphyry province, the Pearl project has been subject to minimal modern exploration and has never been drilled.

What’s next?

Given the presence of numerous shallow historic workings at Aurora that remain unexplored by modern methods, G88 is committed to advancing its understanding of the structural controls, mineralisation extent and geochemical anomalies.

The company’s upcoming work for the prospect includes detailed geological mapping and sampling of mineralised structures, addendum to the approved permits with Arizona State Land Department and Bureau of Land Management in preparation for any drilling requirements, and drilling of identified targets.
