Special Report: Everest Metals Corporation has successfully produced gold concentrate with visible grains of the precious metal during the commissioning phase of the bulk sampling program at its Revere gold project in WA’s Murchison region.
To date, the company has produced ~1.4t of gold concentrate after the mobile Gekko gravity processing plant – which achieved its nameplate capacity of 10t per hour – processed 1700t of material stockpiled by the ongoing bulk sampling program.
This is a major step forward for confirming Everest Metals Corporation’s (ASX:EMC) understanding of the gold mineralisation and geo-metallurgical characterisation of the Revere project, which is along strike of the DeGrussa and Monty copper-gold mines.
Additionally, the bulk sampling program, which focused on just 10% of the 7km Revere Reef strike event, will help convert the current exploration target into a maiden JORC-compliant resource estimate.
“This phase of our bulk sampling program at Revere has been a major achievement for EMC, not only in helping us to better understand the mineralisation style, grade and geology; but also allowing us to extract gold using our Gekko processing plant onsite,” EMC executive chairman Mark Caruso said.
“With further processing of this material in Perth, we have had the benefit of gold extraction at a time of record high gold prices. This generates cash flow to support ongoing activities throughout our portfolio.”
Bulk sampling
The ongoing bulk sampling program continues to delineate the extent of high-grade gold mineralisation contained within the reef structures, providing critical data to evaluate the system’s resource potential.
It is expected to be finalised in Q2 2025, marking a major milestone in the exploration and development of the Revere project.
The Gekko plant was mobilised to site in late October 2024 and started processing stockpiled material in early December. It subsequently achieved its 10tph throughput rate during January 2025.
This plant represents a low-cost and versatile solution that functions as an environmentally-friendly crushing-grinding-primary gravity concentration gold processing system that doesn’t require cyanide or chemicals.
Its design makes it ideally suited for handling free milling, high-grade mineralised material with the potential to deliver sustainable and profitable gold recovery rates.
Extensive metallurgical test work conducted at Gekko Metallurgical Laboratories in Perth had previously demonstrated the effectiveness of the Gekko plant at processing sample material.
Testing confirmed the samples’ amenability to gold concentration utilising a Gekko InLine Pressure Jig and batch centrifugal concentration, confirming coarse liberated gold and processing with recovery rates of 88%.
Gold concentrate produced to date has undergone final processing and gold extraction in Perth with EMC expecting to report the quantity and quality of gold extracted during the bulk sampling program during the June 2025 quarter.
The company plans to support the current bulk sampling program results with an advanced aircore drilling campaign which will focus on the extension along strike of the current mineralised reef system.
It will test near-surface gold potential that could further expand the Revere resource base.
