According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump is serious about buying the autonomous Danish territory of Greenland.
ASX SMALL CAP WINNERS:
Castle Minerals (ASX:CDT) +100%
Castle Minerals (ASX:CDT) listed in 2006 to explore for gold in Ghana and, over the next decade or so, sank tens of millions of dollars into its huge ~11,000sqkm landholding.
But a subsequent tough period for junior exploration led to refreshed board and a rationalisation of what new management called these “legacy” Ghanaian gold assets.
Castle made the move into Pilbara conglomerate gold, which was great for a while. (Not so much now, of course.)
This means Castle Minerals has been ostensibly treading water for much of this year. Until now, that is, because the ~$3m market cap explorer just signed a significant, $US11.7m farmout deal with private company Iguana Resources over a couple of its unwanted Ghanian projects.
Metalsearch (ASX:MSE) +57%
Metalsearch (ASX:MSE) has struck a cash and scrip deal to acquire Abercorn Kaolin, which owns the Abercorn high purity alumina (HPA) project in Queensland.
This is Metalsearch’s first foray into the HPA space, which currently has a portfolio of gold and base metals projects.
HPA’s fastest growing market is in lithium-ion batteries, with it now being used as a coating on the separators in lithium-ion batteries in the electric vehicle industry.
Nanollose (ASX:NC6) +43%
Sneaking in was eco-clothing maker Nanollose (ASX:NC6), which announced today it is using the fibres it grows via the fermentation of waste products to make wipes, via a deal with personal care wipe maker Codi Group.

ASX SMALL CAP LOSERS:
Pharmaxis (ASX:PXS) -20%
After posting a $6.4m profit last financial year, Pharmaxis (ASX:PXS) reported a $20m loss this week for FY19.
But this was largely due to the conditions of the deal Pharmaxis signed with German pharma giant Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) In 2015.
BI bought the rights to develop Pharmaxis’ fatty liver drug and when certain trial conditions were fulfilled, Pharmaxis received $42m in milestone payments.
Without milestone payments in the current financial year, Pharmaxis’ bottom line took a big hit. It also meant revenue fell 74 per cent, down from $50.8m to $13.1m.
Adalta (ASX:1AD) -44%
AdAlta (ASX:A1D) founding CEO Samantha Cobb has resigned after 12 years – and the market didn’t like that one bit.
During her tenure the company has gone from a startup to an ASX-listed company about to commence clinical trial with its anti fibrosis drugs.
The company is currently searching for a new CEO.
