Weekly ASX small cap wrap: Who’s writing SOS messages in the sand this week?

It turns out that the old staple of writing giant SOS messages on beaches of the little island that you are stuck on is actually a valid method of getting help. Who knew?

Three missing sailors have been found on a tiny Micronesian island after their giant call for help was spotted from the air by Australian and US navy aircraft, according to SBS.

The men were stranded after they veered off course and ran out of fuel.

Harris Technology Group (ASX:HT8) +150%

Harris Technology’s move into selling hygiene products – particularly face masks – back in April has proven to be a wise move.

The company led the small cap stocks tracked by Stockhead this week after it confirmed that it was witnessing strong demand in reply to an ASX price query.

intelliHR (ASX:IHR) +144%

Shares in the HR tech company jumped this week after it revealed billionaire tech investor Bevan Slattery had taken a $2.5m stake through a share placement priced at 7.5c.

The issue price for the $5.5m raise was non-discounted, coming in at a slight premium to IHR’s last traded stock price of 7.3c

Australian Strategic Materials (ASX:ASM) -26%

After a strong start to life on the ASX last week, shares in the Alkane Resources (ASX:ALK) spin-off have tumbled down this week.

The company’s Dubbo project is a large in-ground polymetallic resource of zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tantalum, yttrium and rare earth elements that is ready for construction, subject to financing.
