Weekly ASX small cap wrap: Who’s making money from toilet paper cakes this week?
News
News
As regular readers might have noticed, we feature food quite a fair bit in this column and for good reason, what better way to cap off a week – especially in these trying times – with some good food and drink.
This time round, we combine our culinary adventures with a bit of what’s topical in our mad stockpiling world – toilet paper cakes.
That’s right, these delectable little cakes produced by a baker in Dortmund, Germany, are shaped just like your regular bog roll.
And they have proven to be popular enough to keep the business afloat.
Said bakery has also started creating cakes based on the face mask emoji.
With the Small Ords looking set to close the week on a positive note after rising 0.58 per cent to 2,081.8 points, it may to crack out some cake and drinks.
Here are some of the small cap movers at both ends of the market.
Chalice Gold Mines (ASX:CHN) +223%
Explorer Chalice Gold Mines threw the covers off a spectacular high-grade nickel-copper-palladium intercept at the greenfields Julimar project near Perth in WA earlier this week.
Comparisons are already been made with Sirius Resources’ legendary Nova nickel discovery, which predictably sent the market into a buying frenzy.
While drilling of a second conductor failed to turn out another find, managing director Alex Dorsch told Stockhead that the company would carry out step-out drilling at Conductor E to expand the mineralised zone.
Lifespot Health (ASX:LSH) +195%
Digital health minnow Lifespot was the subject of much buying activity after announcing it was expanding its platform to help track fevers as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It said that its BodyTel app and platform extension would incorporate temperature monitoring and a branded Bluetooth thermometer.

Botanix Pharmaceuticals (ASX:BOT) -64%
Punters punished Botanix after the pot stock’s dermatitis treatment failed to meet primary and secondary endpoints in a phase two clinical trial.
While its BTX 1204 treatment was safe and well-tolerated, it only provided patients with a small, but statistically non-significant improvement in the signs of atopic dermatitis.
Heron Resources (ASX:HRR) -59%
Heron Resources was slapped around late this week after suspending production at its Woodlawn zinc-copper project in NSW.
The suspension will remain in effect until safe and reliable operations can recommence.
