Leading the pack was Bass Metals (ASX:BSM), owner of the Graphmada graphite mining complex in Madagascar.

Shares in the company jumped after it announced it has been accepted into the European Battery Alliance, an initiative of the European Union set up to strengthen its battery industry.

Also rising strongly was online insurance platform Ensurance Ltd (ASX:ENA), which ripped higher by more than 60 per cent before telling the ASX it wasn’t aware of any news that would prompt such a jump.

And turning heads was ASX debutante Airtasker (ASX:ART), which raised 83.65 million at 65c per share and closed at $1.05.

It followed an IPO for the online job-connection platform that was more than five times oversubscribed. Nick Sundich has the details on Airtasker’s listing here.
