The week ahead

Much of this week’s economic data are sentiment measures including NAB’s Business Confidence survey on Tuesday and Westpac consumer sentiment on Wednesday.

But one release measuring economic activity will be out today – the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ monthly building approvals report.

What got you talking last week

For most of last week anything to do with the US election was popular. But amongst other content, one story that was popular was High Voltage, our fortnightly recap of battery metals stocks.

While nickel has been the only battery metal to have a good year in 2020, analysts advised major lithium producers last week that they need to prepare for the market upturn.

Another popular article last week was about the latest developments in Australia’s fledgling hydrogen sector. South Australia’s Port Bonython has been earmarked by the state government as a potential hydrogen hub and there are plans for a $240m hydrogen plant.
