Rise and Shine: What you need to know before the ASX opens

The week ahead

This week’s most important economic data is jobs data due on Thursday.

This includes the unemployment rate for April, which is expected to rise from 5.2 per cent to 8.2 per cent, according to a Bloomberg survey of economists.

Also this week look out for NAB Business confidence on Tuesday and Westpac consumer confidence on Wednesday.

The following companies are in trading halts and are expected to exit in the next two trading days:

RhinoMed (ASX:RNO) – capital raising
TNT Mines (ASX:TNT) – acquisition of uranium project
Exore Resources (ASX:ERX) – parting with minority interests

MGC Pharmaceuticals (ASX:MXC) – distribution agreement
Cellmid (ASX:CDY) – media article response

Tuesday:

Keytone Dairy (ASX:KTD) – capital raising
Skin Elements (ASX:SKN) – lab results
NTM Gold (ASX:NTM) – mineral resource estimate
Golden Deeps (ASX:GED) – capital raising
PharmAust (ASX:PAA) – clinical trial results
THC Group (ASX:THC) – acquisition
Eclipse Minerals (ASX:EPM) – capital raising

What got you talking last week

On Twitter, gold continued to be popular, particularly on Thursday when a number of Africa-focused small caps had news, including Tietto Minerals (ASX:TIE) which unveiled more high-grade gold.

In non-resources, one popular story was about AssetOwl (ASX:AO1), which provides virtual real estate inspections. While physical inspections are allowed again, this company thinks its tech is here to stay.
