The day ahead
On the local front, RBA governor Phillip Lowe is scheduled to give a speech called “The Year Ahead” in Sydney at 12:30pm.
Markets will be looking for any clues in the speech regarding the central bank’s outlook, after it kept rates on hold yesterday at 0.75 per cent.
There’s Q4 employment data out of New Zealand, while China will report Caixin PMI (services) data for January, which Westpac said “may show the initial impact of the coronavirus”.
