Rise and shine: What you need to know before the ASX opens
News
On Stockhead today: who’s hunting for the next NWS oil and gas discovery, which directors traded what during the school holidays, Tim Boreman on emerging superbug killer Recce and the most in demand stocks on the ASX right now.
But first:
Expect a slow start to the week on the global front, with public holidays in the US (Columbus Day), Canada (Thanksgiving Day) and Japan (Health-Sports Day, a day promoting active lifestyles commemorating the opening of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics) all on Monday.
Reserve Bank of Australia releases its minutes from its latest rate cut meeting on Tuesday, while China, France and New Zealand have plenty of consumer and producer price index data out the same day.
More consumer price index data on Wednesday, this time out of the EU and Italy, alongside the US Federal Reserve’s Beige Book, reporting on the current US economy, released eight times a year.
On Thursday Australian Bureau of Statistics releases the latest employment data.
