The day ahead
Today is the second day of Diggers and Dealers. Reuben Adams is still there covering the action and here is his Day 2 preview.
Back east, the RBA will be meeting today. While there’s little to no chance the board will cut interest rates again it is always fascinating to observe its commentary.
Also keep an eye on the ABS’ international trade data and ANZ’s update on job advertisements. CommSec told its clients it, “expect[s] a bumper trade surplus of $6 billion in July”.
Felt burnt out by quarterly season? Well now it’s full year earnings season, although at least results will gradually trickle in over the next few weeks instead of all coming through over two days.
Releasing full year earnings today is Zenith Energy (ASX: ZEN). Previous guidance has estimated its earnings between $24.5 million and $26.5 million.

Yesterday’s winners
Yesterday the ASX Small Ords lost nearly 2.5 per cent, the biggest drop in nine-and-a-half months. But there were still some winners yesterday.
One was Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR), closing 73 per cent higher than Friday with some spectacular results.
