In Sydney this morning (8:30am AEST), the RBA’s Chris Kent will give a speech on the central bank’s Committed Liquidity Facility — the fund major lenders use to maintain their capital requirements in line with international banking standards.
It’s relatively quiet on the global data front, where all eyes will be on the UK with Boris Johnson expected to win the Conservative Party leadership ballot and become UK Prime Minister later this evening.

Aside from the percentage moves in penny stocks, chemical tech company SciDev (ASX:SDV) was the day’s big mover with a gain of almost 40 per cent.
The stock closed at 18.5c after SDV announced it had received its “first major order for friction reducers in the oil & gas market destined for the US Permian basin”. The sales are expected to generate revenue of $1.08m.
