It’s a quiet Friday of data to end the week, with Japanese inflation data for June (expected to remain soft at 0.7 per cent) the only update of note in Asian markets.
Looking abroad, the US has the University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey for July and James Bullard from the US Fed will give a speech on financial technology.

Medical tech company Imagion Biosystems (ASX: IBX) caught the market’s attention after winning hard-fought special privileges from the US Food & Drug Administration for its MagSense breast cancer detection technology.
The “breakthrough device” technology means IBX will be able to speed up the approval process as it moves towards clinical testing in humans.
Shares in the company initially roared ahead by more than 200 per cent, before closing 155 per cent higher.
