On Stockhead today, the Top 10 crucial trials coming up in 2022, 3 ASX life science stocks for a healthy portfolio, and a Big 4 in a trading halt?

But first… the day ahead.

Plenty to look out for on Wednesday, with inflation and CPI numbers due for release.

Consensus forecast for year on year inflation is 6.3%, which is pretty freakin’ high, hence all the rate rises.

Listing activity has dried up what with the bearish markets and all, after we sustained around a listing a day in those bygone times of late 2021.

There is some movement though – Iluka Resources (ASX:ILU) shareholders backed its demerger of natural rutile play Sierra Rutile (ASX:SRX) on Friday by a vote of 99.95% to 0.05%, a ratio Robert Mugabe would have been delirious with.

There are no hijinks at play here though, with Iluka looking to move into rare earths and focus on Australia the demerger of its African business appears to have been well received, setting the stage for the development of the large Sembehun mine in Sierra Leone.

TRADING HALTS

Australian Unity Office Fund (ASX:AOF) – Unity’s nearly ready to talk about the proposal from Aliro Group to acquire all the issued units in AOF for $2.45 cash per pop.

Galena Mining (ASX:G1A) – Galena needs time to put a clarification together for its announcement yesterday on production guidance at the Abra Lead-Zinc mine in WA.

WHAT GOT YOU TALKING LAST WEEK?

Ford and Elon Musk had the lithium market shouting out loud with a string of battery metals MoUs and some loud-mouthed commentary from the Tesla supremo firing up the market.

Victory Goldfields (ASX:1VG) made a super Rare Earth Elements (REE) discovery including critical Heavy Rare Earth Elements (HRE) from follow-up assays at its 100% owned Mafeking and North Stanmore project in WA.

The stock jumped into the ionosphere, after word spread on Wednesday morning of the latest results from follow up assays that initially reported ‘significant’ anomalous values of yttrium at the project in the Cue goldfields, about 650km due northeast of Perth.

1VG says the results indicate a High HREO/TREO ratio of 40% with reported magnet REOs (Pr), (Nd), (Tb), and (Dy) totalling 24.6%.

Delighted executive director Brendan Clark described the discoveries as a significant moment for Victory and its shareholders.
