On Stockhead today, oil is on the boil again, vanadium’s new dawn is approaching and how to hit back at $12 iceberg lettuce.

But first, the day ahead.

The week kicks off on Monday with the release of the May inflation gauge by the Melbourne Institute and the May reading of job advertisements from ANZ.

“The inflation gauge surprisingly fell 0.1 per cent in April while job ads fell 0.5 per cent from lofty levels,” says CommSec.

In China, Monday sees the release of the Caixin purchasing managers’ index for services as well as the composite measure.

The services reading is 36.2 – well below the 50 line that signifies growth, says CommSec.

Recent IPO Southern Cross Gold (ASX:SXG) was up 245% last week, thanks to a speccy 119m at 3.9g/t gold equivalent drill hit at the ‘Sunday Creek’ project in Victoria.

Lindian Resources’ (ASX:LIN) share price smashed through eight-year highs after it reached an out-of-court settlement over a protracted 2018 dispute over the ‘Kangankunde’ rare earths project in Malawi.

And historical rock chip sampling returned up to 7.49% lithium at Tyranna Resources’ (ASX:TYX) newly acquired ‘Namibe’ project in Angola, West Africa.

That’s high grade. Hard rock mines usually produce at an ore grade of between 0.8-1.5% lithium.
