It’s Thursday on Stockhead.
To catch you up: The ASX200 appeared fortunate to end just 5 points lower on Wednesday, down 0.08% after a day of ifs and buts.
The goldies saved the pork products, with the ASX Gold Sector climbing circa 2% and blue sky was next.
Headline CPI came in at 1.4% QoQ vs 1.3% expected for an annual rate of 7% vs 6.9% exp. Core inflation (or Trimmed Mean depending on your affection for The Funny) hit 1.2% vs 1.4% expected, slipping in at an annual rate of 6.6% vs 6.7% expected.
IG’s Tony Sycamore with the brass tacks wrap: “Low enough to keep the RBA on hold for another month.”
Meantime the WSJ, evidently leaning too much on Google as a journalistic tool, says searches for ‘How to Buy Gold’ just hit a record high.

Mt Monger Resources (ASX:MTM) rose 23% climb, now up some +130% since acquiring a Canadian rare earths-niobium exploration project called ‘Pomme’ in February.
Yari Minerals (ASX:YAR) has reversed a few days of misfortune, climbing 16.7% after falling significantly during a boardroom reboot last week. YAR’s (now-former) managing director Brad Marwood transitioning into a non-executive chairman role, handing the MD reigns over to Anthony Italiano.
ImpediMed (ASX:IPD) added 16% to take its price to around $0.18 a pop, it’s now up more than 200% this month.
IPD has been on the rise since the US National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) released a new set of guidelines, which include the use of bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) as an objective measurement tool to identify early signs of lymphoedema for the first time.
IPD currently holds the only FDA-cleared BIS technology for the assessment of lymphoedema.
