Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunch Wednesday Sep 12:
The ASX Small Ords was down 4.6 points or 0.2 per cent to 2,816.5 at 12.30pm AEST.
Drug developer Suda Pharma (ASX:SUD), known for making a sildenafil (aka Viagra) mouth spray among other things, is up 25 per cent to an intraday high of 0.5c this morning.
The company put out a positive update about licence discussions for its various oral sprays, including ZolpiMist, which is used for insomnia, and ArTiMist, a malaria treatment for children.
Suda also said it was continuing to negotiate potential joint ventures as well as looking for a vice president to head up business development.
Pursuit Minerals (ASX:PUR) has identified a major exploration target at its Koitelainen vanadium project in Finland, and announced plans to complete a mineral resource estimate at the project and undertake a scoping study early in 2019.
As a result the company is up 32 per cent to an intraday high of 7c.
Pursuit is rapidly compiling a portfolio of world-class vanadium projects in Scandinavia. In addition to today’s results, the company has recently confirmed high-grade assays at its Airijoki project in northern Sweden.
Biotech Phylogica (ASX:PYC) is up 17 per cent to an intraday high of 3.5c after telling investors this morning that it had received “firm commitments” to raise $9.1 million.
The money will be used to accelerate its path towards first in human trials of its Cell Penetrating Peptides (CPPs).
Shares in gold miner Empire Resources (ASX:ERL) are up 18 per cent to an intraday high of 1.3c.
The company does not have any news out, but the shares have been active thanks to a boardroom battle that’s been going on in the background.
