GOING UP

Baraka Energy & Resources (ASX:BKP) rode a wave of support today to trade at an intraday high of 0.8c, an increase of 60 per cent, with some 43 million shares traded.

Last week was a big one for the minnow, which finished the week down 37 per cent after a board spill. A group of shareholders successfully ousted the previous directors.

By Friday they’d righted the ship, avowing its commitment to vanadium, and it appears that has paid off today.

Meanwhile health diagnostics-cum-blockchain company Genetic Technologies (ASX:GTG) had something to crow about this morning, with its shares jumping 22 per cent to an intraday high of 1.1c.

Genetic last week signed a deal with Chinese healthcare company Beijing Zishan Health Consultancy to explore a joint venture aiming to get Genetic’s genomic tests into the Chinese market.

Stockhead reported earlier this month that Genetic had missed the initial deadline on a joint venture with Swisstec.

4DS Memory (ASX:4DS) was the fifth-most-traded small cap stock this morning, moving 23 million in trades as its share price bumped up 20 per cent to an intraday high of 10.5c.

The data storage company has had an outstanding past 12 months on the ASX, trading up 152 per cent. It’s the second-best-performing electronic maker on the ASX, just behind Weebit Nano (ASX:WBT).

Diversified investment company First Growth Funds (ASX:FGF) was up 20 per cent to an intraday high of 1.2c and was also heavy on volume, with 31 million shares traded.

First Growth Funds announced today that Acudeen, a technology company enabling small and medium enterprises to finance their receivables ahead of time, is going to list on the BTCEXA – a digital asset exchange.

FGF holds 20 per cent of all Acudeen tokens and, in addition, are entitled to receive a $US250,000 fee from the first US$1m that Acudeen receives from the sale of their tokens, and also a further 6.25 per cent commission as long as Acudeen receives a minimum of $US5 million from the sale of their tokens.

GOING DOWN

Oil and gas explorer Carnarvon (ASX:CVN) is experiencing huge volumes today after completing its assessment of the hydrocarbon volumes within its Dorado well — finding 171 million barrels of oil.

Carnarvon rocketed last week after first confirming the new offshore oil discoveries — though an analyst says extraction will be expensive and the explorer could opt for a lucrative exit.

More than $8 million worth of shares changed hands today, pushing the shares down 9 per cent to an intraday low of 38c.
