Local stocks continued their run of good form this morning, as the ASX200 continued its push towards the 7,000 mark.
And speaking of good form, the Australian cricket team also looks in reasonable nick if last night’s match against India is any guide.
The visitors successfully chased down India’s score of 256 in a one-day match in Mumbai, to take out the first contest in a three-match series.
Highlighting the run chase was the fact that the Aussies didn’t lose a single wicket in the process.
Opening batsmen David Warner and Aaron Finch both plundered not-out centuries, notching up the highest unbroken one-day partnership by Australia against any team. Not bad.
From sporting fields to the Australian stock market, it was all good vibes as the ASX200 climbed by 22 points to 3,984 points into midday trade this morning.
The ASX Small Ords index is also having a good session, up 17 points to 3,039 points — an intraday gain of 0.58 per cent.
GOING UP
Gold-copper explorer GBM Resources (ASX:GBZ) led the pack on no news, climbing by around 60 per cent in morning trade.
Another gold and copper explorer, Kalamazoo Resources (ASX:KZR), saw its share price take off after it announced Canadian billionaire investor Eric Sprott and Canada-listed gold explorer Novo Resources had agreed to sink $8m into the company in exchange for a stake in Kalamazoo.
Ed-tech TALi Digital (ASX:TD1) climbed by around 20 per cent at the opening bell, after announcing a partnership deal with Google Education.
The deal will give TALi access to extended Google distribution channels, including G Suite for Education and Google Chromebooks which are used by more than 50 per cent of US schools.
TALi (formerly Novita Healthcare) makes education products used in the treatment of children with attention deficit disorder.
