GOING UP

After suffering some pretty hefty losses over the past year, 3D printing innovator Aurora Labs (ASX:A3D) would be relieved to see its stock jump 22.5 per cent to 49c by lunchtime EST.

Aurora says its 3D printing Rapid Manufacturing Technology (RMT) has hit a “remarkable” print speeds of 113kg/day — about 55 times current market speed.

The company wants to upend the global spare parts industry in sectors like mining, oil & gas, marine and automotive.

“The year ahead is looking extremely exciting,” says managing director David Budge.

Explorer Mithril Resources (ASX:MTH) is another small cap in recovery mode, up about 20 per cent this morning after it was given the green light to start exploring its promising Billy Hills zinc project in Western Australia.

Still, it has some work to do; its current share price of 0.6c is a far cry from 12-month highs of 5.8c.

New Age Exploration (ASX:NAE) reckons it has the largest, second highest grade undeveloped tin-tungsten underground mining project in the world (although that’s up for debate, we’ve been told).

Still, the stock jumped 20 per cent this morning to 0.6c per share.

GOING DOWN

It’s back to the drawing board for cancer-fighter BARD1 (ASX:BD1) after its vaccine was shown to have no effect on mice with lung, colon or breast cancer.

While the research study found delayed tumour growth, prolonged survival and induced immune response, the company’s share price still dropped 17 per cent to an intraday low of 2c.

And yesterday’s IPO superstar African Gold (ASX:A1G) has pared some of its first day gains, down about 7 per cent to 28c per share in morning trade.
