Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who's enjoying the snow today?

Its not officially winter yet, even though it feels like it.

But Australian snowfields are opening early this year. Perisher & Mt Buller are open today and Selwyn was open yesterday.

You could go for the weekend. And you might like it so much you may choose to take a ‘snowie’ on Monday…

Alternatively if you’re a footy fan, perhaps your weekly ritual will suffice. It was fun in March and April. The weather was lovely, almost all teams had a hope. But now, when only a few teams have a realistic chance at conquering all come September, is the time we really know who the die-hard fans are.

But ASX investors have not gone cold – yet. The ASX Small Ords is at 2821 down 0.12 per cent from yesterday.

Here are the key ASX small cap movers at lunchtime on Friday May 31:

Going up

Lake Resources’ (ASX: LKE) lithium brine project in Argentina is going well. It stumbled across conductive brines and shares are up 50 per cent.

Cobalt Blue (ASX: COB) did a deal with Mitsubishi to evaluate its elemental sulphur. It’s only at trial stage but investors have liked this, sending the stock up 33 per cent.

Going down

Among the losers today, Metalicity (ASX: MCT) is down 22 per cent after completing a capital raise.

Despite having its AGM today, UUV Aquabotix (ASX: UUV) is again on the losers list, down 13 per cent.

While it’s too big for us, one of the large cap losers was Link Administration Holdings (ASX: LNK), which announced earning estimates below previous estimations.

Just so you know the big boys have bad days as well.
