Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s an Oscar contender today?

Adam Sandler jokes that if he doesn’t win the ‘Best Actor’ Oscar for the film Uncut Gems then he might just “f**king come back and do [a film] again that is so bad on purpose just to make you all pay”.
Some would argue he’s been doing this for years. But Sandler is — believe it or not — actually in the mix to take home ‘Best Actor’ in the 2020 Academy Awards (according to the Daily Beast, anyway).
Time to get behind this underdog story.
The markets took a hit this week, thanks to the newest episode of Twitter Word Soup with Trump™.

But things are looking rosier this morning. The ASX200 recovered 0.88 per cent to 6,664 points; while the ASX Small Ords was up 0.84 per cent to 2,858 points in morning trade.
GOING UP
Software as a service (SaaS) provider AppsVillage (ASX:APV) rocketed ~60 per cent this morning on a very strong revenue outlook.
The company, which only listed in August, says all important recurring revenue is set to hit $105,000 in the December quarter — a significant uplift compared to September and June.
Resource Generation (ASX:RES) locked in about $421m to develop its 6-million-tonne-a-year Boikarabelo coal mine in South Africa.
Markets responded positively to the announcement, sending the stock up 30 per cent in morning trade.
And security firm Threat Protect Australia (ASX:TPS) surged over 30 per cent after announcing a new substantial holder, Hong Kong-based Black Crane Capital.
Black Crane has bought $5m worth of shares at a 45 per cent premium to yesterday’s closing price.
