Last Orders: What you might have missed on the ASX today

Small caps have gained for a fourth straight day, although they didn’t quite keep up with their larger counterparts.

The Small Ordinaries index of 100 small cap companies finished Friday up 0.13 per cent to 3,078.8 – its best level since February 20 – while the ASX200 gained 0.28 per cent to 6,634.1.

For the week however the Small Ords was up 1.4 per cent, while the ASX200 gained just 0.5 per cent.

The Emerging Companies index of micro-caps declined 0.04 per cent on Friday, but finished the week up 2.35 per cent.

Among the biggest gainers on Friday was Allegra Orthopaedics (ASX:AMT), whose shares doubled to 40c after reporting progress on its synthetic spinal cage device, which it is testing in sheep. The cages are made from biosynthetic material that Allegra has licensed from the University of Sydney.

– LiveTiles (ASX:LVT) was flat at 28.5c after announcing it would establish an “employee experience academy” with Canva, the graphic design platform.

– BidEnergy (ASX:BID) gained 7.8 per cent to $1.25 after the utility billing platform reported it had commitments to raise $15 million in a fully underwritten institutional placement to fund its acquisition of Optima Energy Management Holdings.

– Incannex Healthcare (ASX:IHL) requested a trading halt, saying it planned to initiate a “psychedelic medicine clinical trial”.

– DXN (ASX:DXN) gained 5.3 per cent to 2c after the pre-fabricated modular data centre specialist announced it had secured a $700,000 contract with Streamline Connect to design and prefabricate a modular data centre for a global mining operator in the Pilbara.

– Drone parachute company Parazero (ASX:PRZ) announced that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission had accepted a change of its name, and it will now be known as Delta Drone International. The company’s stock code will be changed to DLT.
