Each Monday, Stockhead recaps which stocks are most heavily in demand by investors — running hot.

The analysis is based on the Relative Strength Index (RSI), a technical gauge which measures how trading momentum is affecting the price action.

A reading of 70 is seen as the level at which a company may have been overbought. If a stock has a reading of 30 or below, it could be undervalued.

Running Hot

Here’s a summary of the stocks that were running hot for the two weeks ended Friday, June 26:

There were a total of 56 stocks on this week’s Running Hot list, up from 52 last week despite some wobbles in global markets as COVID-19 risks reaccelerate in a number of large US states.

And for the first time we can recall, the top five positions were all held by junior gold explorers, helped by a combination of more high-grade gold hits in key WA hotspots and record high gold prices.

Topping the list was Riversgold (ASX:RGL), which has continued to run hot after doubling off the back of a capital raising last month, where well-known mining investor Tolga Kumova emerged with a 5.29 per cent stake in the business.
