Globe Metals & Mining (ASX:GBE) nearly quadrupled after a key governing body in Malawi recommended approval for the company to be granted a mining licence at its Kanyika niobium project.
The recommendation obligates the relevant government minister to formally approve the licence application within 45 days.
Tech stock Altium (ASX:ALU), rose over than 30 per cent after receiving a takeover bid from the NASDAQ-listed Autodesk Inc despite Altium rejecting the offer.
Software company Hansen Technologies (ASX:HSN) also received a $1.3 billion offer from private equity group BGH Capital and has all but accepted the bid.
Scientific device maker Trajan (ASX:TRJ) rose on its debut today.
