Among stocks with market-moving announcements, gains were led by medical cannabis company Creso Pharma (ASX:CPH).

The company flagged positive tailwinds in the US market after US House of Representatives passed a law to decriminalise marijuana at the federal level over the weekend (the proposal still has to pass the Senate).

Shares in CPH have now risen by around 400 per cent since November 26.
