It was a positive start to the week for the Australian bourse.

The ASX 200 rose 0.22% to 7,505 while the ASX Emerging Companies Index gained nearly 2% and closed at 2,331 – a two week high following a 6% drop in the week before last.

The gain in the ASX occured despite the majority of sectors finishing negative although only consumer discretionary goods lost more than 1%. Resources led the charge gaining 2.75% while energy gained 0.73%.

Construction services company Maas (ASX:MGH) acquired a development site in Dubbo – the World War II RAAF Stores Depot. The site comprises of 38 hectares including 5 major industrial buildings with a combined floor space of 30,000 square metres.

Life360 (ASX:360) told shareholders proposed changes to Apple App Store regulations might be a positive. The company says the ability to more aggressively market alternative payment options to users would result in higher operating margins for the business over time.

Oliver’s Real Foods (ASX:OLI) revealed it had copped a big hit from lockdowns in July. Company store sales were down 73.91% on 2019 levels and while NSW saw the biggest drop, down 88%, Queensland also went down by 10% and Victoria by 55%.

7 companies were delisted from the ASX today for failing to submit their listing fees. These included Sky and Space Global (ASX:SAS) and COVID test kit maker TBG Diagnostics (ASX:TDL).

APA Group (ASX:APA) confirmed speculation it was trying to acquire Basslink – a company that owns a 370km electricity inter-connector between Victoria and Tasmania. However it said discussions were ongoing and there was no guarantee a deal would be done.
