ASX Small Cap Winners Apr 6-13
Microcap Ausmon Resources (ASX:AOA) hit its highest price in four years after announcing it would buy sites in NSW and Queensland where it believes it can dig up cobalt.
The stock jumped sharply from 0.6c as high as 2c, before closing the week at 1.6c — a jump of 166 per cent for the week.
The NSW site is close to Cobalt Blue’s Thackaringa cobalt project near Broken Hill.
Cobalt Blue’s shares (ASX:COB) are up six-fold since late last year when it identified significant targets at Thackaringa. The shares went on a tear again last month after the resource was further upgraded with 72 per cent classed as “indicated”.
Mineral resources are categorised in order of increasing geological confidence as inferred, indicated or measured. By moving resources into the “indicated” category, it means a company has sufficient information on geology and grade to support mine planning.
The two other sites were in Queensland including one project 20 km from the Australian Mines Sconi project.
Blockchain stock Reffind (ASX:RFN) jumped 50 per cent to 2.1c on no news, attracting a query from the ASX.
Reffind knew of no reason for a jump in trading of its shares. Reffind last year bought into a loyalty business that uses blockchain technology
Last week it said it “has undertaken a detailed review of its operations” and was “exploring further new product developments within the blockchain-based loyalty and rewards space”.
Newly-listed Acrow Formwork and Construction Services (ASX:ACF) gained 20 per cent to 24c compared to its 20c issue price.
The company, which supplies contruction equipment such as scaffolding, backdoor-listed on Monday via the former NMG Corporation which was suspended last August.
Acrow raised $27.2 million with the help of Bell Potter Securities.
The stock closed at 24c on Friday.

Hollywood-based digital ad agency Engage:BDR (ASX:EN1) gained 48 per cent for the week after confirming it expected revenue of $24 million to $24.5 million this year — and EBITDA earnings of $1.25 million to $1.5 million.
The transition from older technology to high-tech programmatic (automated) advertising platforms had contributed to a decline in revenue in 2017.
But “significant growth of programmatic advertising” and a new focus on video ads would significantly grow total revenues and “also dramatically improve gross margins”, the company promised.
Atlas Iron (ASX:AGO) was up 47 per cent for the week after attracting the attention of larger rival Mineral Resources (MinRes) – which is offering Atlas shareholders an attractive premium.
Atlas told investors today that MinRes is offering 1 MinRes share for every 571 of its own shares, which implies a price of 3.02c per share – a 59 per cent premium to Atlas’ share price prior to the news.
MinRes (ASX:MIN) is a $3.2 billion company, with its share price closing at $17.24 before it went into a trading halt last Thursday.
Clancy Exporation gained 66 per cent after announcing it would buy cobalt licences in Morocco that are close to the Bou Azzer cobalt mine that dates back to 1931.
Clancy is notable because it’s chaired by the boss of Pilbara gold explorer Artemis, David Lenigas.
“This is an extraordinary and tremendous opportunity for Clancy to acquire a big package of prime exploration tenements for cobalt, nickel, copper and gold in Morocco,” Mr Lenigas said.
“To sign this deal for 32 sq km right next to the world famous Bou Azzer Cobalt Mine is a significant deal for Clancy.
“We plan to start exploration work immediately as part of our due diligence and we already have an experienced in-country exploration team on the ground.”
Clancy rose from 0.3c to 0.5c — but closed the week at 0.4c.

ASX Small Cap Losers Apr 6-13
AirXpanders (ASX:AXP) is looking for a new chief, saying it needs a new top dog to level up in the US and that first quarter sales were flat.
The company’s shares plunged 58 per cent this week to 17c.
Scott Dodson resigned from his roles as president and CEO which he has held since 2010. AirXpanders has hired a recruiter to help it locate its next chief.
CFO and COO Scott Murcray is taking over for now.
“We appreciate Scott Dodson’s efforts in leading AirXpanders through the early clinical trials in Australia and the US, the Initial Public Offering, FDA clearance and the launch of AeroForm in Australia and the US,” AirXpanders chairman and cofounder Barry Cheskin said.
