Olympic swimming is in full swing and Aussie swim star Ariarne Titmus has just knocked off American swimming champion Katie Ledecky to win the 400m freestyle this morning.
Ledecky led comfortably for most of the race but the young Tasmanian was having none of it, taking the lead with just 50m to go and then charging home for the gold (which has also just climbed back above US$1,800/oz).

On stock markets, there was a strong resources vibe as the ASX200 eked out a small gain into midday trade.
Most of the major indexes were slightly in the red but the Resources and Materials sectors dragged the market higher with gains of around 1%.
Brent crude oil is holding above US$73/barrel and Bitcoin is back, with a climb above $US39,000 over the weekend in its biggest daily charge since June.

Minerals explorer Conico (ASX:CNJ) jumped at the opening bell and led the pack into midday trade, among stocks with market-moving announcements.
Results from the first drilling program at its Ryberg nickel-copper project in Greenland revealed “significant sulphide mineralisation”, Conico said.
The early drill results mark another step in a 13-year journey since Conico CEO Thomas Abraham-James first came across Ryberg in 2008.

Also making the midday leaderboard was Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE), which announced it has now been included on the Global X Uranium ETF which trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
