ASX Small Cap Lunch Wrap: Who’s just playing through it today?
News
News
A brief scan of the digital landscape reveals the following: there’s a bit of news about.
The US election kicks off tonight and the RBA is on deck this afternoon.
So is the Melbourne Cup, where Tiger Moth is the slight favourite from Gate 21.
(There’s also been a reported terrorist attack in Vienna, while COVID-19 cases continue to surge globally).
If you’re suffering from sensory overload, we recommend taking a leaf from this guy’s book and just playing through it:
Curfew in Barcelona last night. The juxtaposition of the man on the piano playing “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles and the scene unfolding behind them is quite something. pic.twitter.com/9buhxS0xe9

ASX stocks aren’t exactly doing to equivalent of playing Eternal Flame on piano while explosions go off and police sirens wail in the background amid a Covid-curfew crackdown in Barcelona.
But with trading volumes down as punters focus on the ponies, one could argue the market is ‘playing through it’ with some aplomb.
All the major indices reversed a week of selling to book strong gains in morning trade.
Small caps led the rally, with the ASX Emerging Markets Index — which slumped six per cent last week — on track for its first two per cent gain since October 12.
US stock futures are pointing slightly higher ahead of Election Day, while the Aussie dollar is holding its gains above US70c as a bit of risk appetite returns to markets.

Among stocks with market-moving announcements, gold junior Mithril Resources (ASX:MTH) continued its strong 2020 rally with another round of positive drill results.
The Mexico-based reported high-grade gold and silver results from the first drilling program El Refugio target — part of the Cometa Project,
in Mexico’s Copalquin district.
“In November, we are drill testing three other projects in the Copalquin District where historic high-grade production from multi-level workings has been reported,” CEO John Skeet said.
