Skin Elements will capitalise on demand for products which are chemical free and environmentally-friendly with its SuprCuvr disinfectant found to be protective against Covid-19 and a range of pathogens.
Australian natural health care company Skin Elements Limited (ASX: SKN) is working to disrupt the global disinfectant market with its organic formula considered a game-changer.
With Covid-19 restrictions largely lifted worldwide but cases still high and the pandemic not yet over, executive chairman Peter Malone said demand for disinfectants to help curtail the spread of the virus remains high.
“Reminders about hand hygiene and social distancing are starting to fall as the world learns to live with Covid-19,” he said.
“However, it is still important to clean surfaces, high traffic areas, and sanitise your hands to protect against not only Covid-19 but other pathogens which can be unpredictable.
“Australia’s flu season for example is early and cases are at a high rate which is alarming health professionals.”
Skin Elements has a natural hand sanitiser product and foamer, which are alcohol- and chemical-free under its Invisi Shield brand.
But the company’s organic disinfectant SuprCuvr is what is getting attention on a global scale.
The registration was crucial to SuprCuvr commercialisation for use in hospitals and aged-care homes, which are restricted to using only TGA registered disinfectants.
SuprCuvr is made from a 100% plant-based formula with independent laboratory tests confirming that the disinfectant has 99.99999% effectiveness against COVID 192.
Skin Elements’ research indicates that SuprCuvr is the first and only approved disinfectant globally with a 99.99999% efficacy against Covid-19.
It can also kill a range of other pathogenic bacteria including:
Malone said the combination of high efficacy in a 100% plant-based formula is a significant market opportunity.
“This product is an absolute game-changer and there is nothing quite like it available,” he said.
“It’s been well documented from market research that people want to use products that are good for them, their families and the planet and are chemical-free.
“It’s why we have dedicated so many resources to developing our unique formulation.”
The company is now working on distribution deals to further sales of SuprCuvr in international markets.
It has also attracted the attention of various industries beyond healthcare, including manufacturing, and sees childcare, food production and handling as profitable markets.
“We certainly see strong demand and opportunities moving forward for the product and will work to ensure we make the most of these for our shareholders,” Malone said.
