The deal with Walmart has further expanded Nutritional Growth Solutions’ retail footprints across the US, after recently announcing a distribution deal with The Healthy Edge Group.

Nutritional Growth Solutions (ASX:NGS) has entered a potentially US$20 billion market after announcing its Healthy Heights KidzProtein range is now on the shelves of 403 Walmart stores across the US.

Walmart will shelf two SKUs from NSG’s Healthy Heights portfolio – the KidzProtein canisters in chocolate and vanilla – following purchase orders from the giant retailer’s regional distribution centres.

The retailer has initially rolled the products out into 403 stores and expects to continue the rollout into more of its brick-and-mortar retail store network.

When this happens, NGS will receive more purchase orders as needed and may also potentially receive orders for its other brands.

In addition to the in-store placement, Walmart has also taken the entire Healthy Heights product portfolio onboard its online “fulfilled by Walmart” platform (walmart.com).

This means that the products are held in multiple Walmart-owned distribution centres, and customers are able to benefit from enhanced, speedier delivery and in-store pick-up services.

Walmart is the world’s largest company by revenue, ranking number one on the Fortune Global 500 in 2021.

“This is a significant milestone for NGS as we continue to grow our presence in North America with Walmart, the world’s largest company by revenue and the United States’ largest retailer,” said NGS CEO Liron Fendell.

Expanding rapidly in the US

NGS is expanding its retail presence in the US rapidly following a recent distribution deal with natural food store operator, The Healthy Edge Group.

Three items from the Healthy Heights product range for children were stocked through Healthy Edge’s 20 natural foods stores in the US including Akins, Chamberlain’s and Earth Origins Market starting this month.

Healthy Heights is now available through some of the country’s most reputable stockists.

This includes Walmart, Walmart.com, Kroger.com, Akins Natural Foods, Earth Origins Market, Chamberlin’s Natural Foods, Amazon, Ralphs.com and Smiths.com.

The brand is now on track to be stocked in 420 physical stores through multiple retailers in the US by the end of this quarter.

“This on-shelf presence in Walmart also paves the way for NGS to be in store with more retail brands across the US,” said Fendell.

“We have optimised our US manufacturing facility to service these expanded channels as well as our increasing online sales.”

A multi-billion dollar market

Fendell says that NGS is collaborating with Walmart to use the retail giant’s digital media reach to generate sales and foot traffic in-store – harnessing Walmart print, influencers and public relations to educate and build awareness in relevant regional markets.

The Walmart deal has also launched the NGS’ Grow Up Milk category into the multi-billion dollar one-year-and-older children market in the US.

“The recent shortages of baby formula in the US have brought to the fore an increase in demand for allied sector high-quality nutritional products like ours,” Fendell said.

“As a result of this expanded retail rollout, our premium nutrition products will now be accessible to more children across the United States.

“We look forward to expanding our footprint in the United States with a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Walmart and welcoming new customers from Walmart’s loyal online and in-store shoppers.”
