Stock analysis veteran and lover of the oil and gas game, Peter Strachan, is putting aside the Bloomberg terminal and picking up the microphone for a new segment. Welcome to The Wildcatter Podcast.

In this inaugural episode Peter interviews Warrego Energy (ASX:WGO) group CEO and managing director, Dennis Donald.

Warrego has been catapulted into the energy sector spotlight in recent months following a spate of major gas discoveries at its West Erregulla project located in the Perth basin.

With the potential to out-volume nearby Waitsia, early indications suggest the site could become one of Australia’s largest onshore gas reserves.

Off the back of the news, Warrego has seen its share price jump close to 510 percent, rising from 5c to around 30.5c.

Tune in to hear the pair discuss cutting teeth in the North Sea, trading consultancy firms for Perth basin blocks and unearthing the next Waitsia.

Note: Since the recording of this interview, Warrego has announced another substantial gas discovery at its West Erregulla-2 well, as well as a significant upgrade to its Kingia gas discovery and news of a $12m capital raising.
