Rapper Snoop Dogg has posted a tweet supposedly revealing himself as the prominent NFT-pumping crypto Twitter influencer Cozomo de’ Medici (@CozomoMedici).
The famous hip-hop artist’s Twitter account posted a simple tweet to its 19.2 million followers on Monday that read: “I am @CozomoMedici”, and changed its profile pic to the dope-smoking “Hazy Nyan Cat” NyanDogg NFT, bought for 4.24 ETH (about US$13,000 at the current price).
I am @CozomoMedici

It’s not new information that Snoop Dogg is into non-fungible tokens – like many music and sports stars he’s released NFT drops this year. (And he’s certainly not the only hip-hop luminary into crypto, either, as Method Man and MC Hammer can attest.) But operating a Twitter account that has regular and 100 per cent focus on NFTs is definitely stepping up the game.
At the time of writing, the Cozomo_de_Medici OpenSea account has more than 100 NFTs, although some of those may be brand-new spam appearing subsequently to the rapper’s reveal. There seems to be lots of new, possibly worthless, weed- and Snoop-related NFTs that have suddenly hit the address.
But, more significantly, the Cozomo Medici address holds numerous highly coveted NFTs, including several CryptoPunks and Art Blocks pieces. Some of these have been bought for millions of dollars, such as the one shown below, which cost 850 ETH. At today’s price, that’s about US$2.6 million.
Did I imagine my very 1st purchase of a "useless" jpeg would cost $2m USD?
Absolutely not. It should have been $4m.
Frens, today I share the uncensored tale of how I entered the wild world of NFTs. From 0 to 8 figures in 30 days.

Followers of the pseudonymous @CozomoMedici account had been expecting a big “dox” reveal for a few days now, alerted by the account’s posts and even a poll inviting them to guess the account’s true identity.
“Dear frens,” the account tweeted on Monday. “Since I announced my dox, events have transpired most would not believe, nor understand. What I can share is I’ve received an outpouring of kindness here on twitter. And many say they prefer to know me as Cozomo, and no one else!
Shortly, as promised, I will dox from my personal account.
As my fame is considerable, the tweet will no doubt be discovered. Those who are curious to my identity will soon know it.

“So here is what I’ve decided to do,” continued the posts. “Shortly, as promised, I will dox from my personal account. As my fame is considerable, the tweet will no doubt be discovered. Those who are curious to my identity will soon know it.
“Those who do not care, or simply prefer not to know the source of my vast fame and fortune, may simply not research. I will keep this account focused on NFTs, and not mention this again here.”
The account also promised: “To make this more fun, I have decided I will gift one random person who finds and shares the tweet, 1 ETH from the Medici Vault.”
The Cozomo de’ Medici moniker, by the way, appears to be named after a famed Renaissance-era Italian banker.
In huge Australian music-industry news, Snoop Dogg recently announced an “Australian arena tour” for October and November of 2022, titled “I Wanna Thank Me”. It’ll be the rapper’s first tour Down Under since 2014. The tour will focus on the star’s album of the same name, released in 2019.
