The Unicorns Podcast connects you to some of the best and brightest founders, CEOs, executives, business owners, innovators, entrepreneurs and inspiring leaders who make things happen and inspire others.
Host Justin Kelly, former broadcast journalist and PR veteran, chats with leaders from across Australia and internationally on business strategy; what it takes to build a successful company; how to overcome challenges, and advice for those on a similar journey.
In this episode, Justin talks with Mat Belcher OAM, dual Olympic gold medalist and CEO of sailing and yachting apparel company Zhik.
The company prides itself on pushing the boundaries of innovation, defying expectations in design and technology in water sport apparel, while never being too far from the water. Challenging the status quo, Zhik says it “identifies problems and finds breakthrough solutions to continually set the benchmark in water sports apparel”, which is why Zhik gear is a top choice of Olympic and world champions around the globe.
Zhik now kits out the best sailors in the world including America’s Cup and Olympic winning teams. They were an official supplier to the Australian Olympic team in Tokyo and fitted out the New Zealand, Singapore and Denmark teams too.
They have a network of trade partners and distributors across 49 countries with warehouses in Australia, the UK, Netherlands and the US and rapid sales growth – up 40% last financial year and 20% the year before.
It begins a $4 million crowd funding capital raise through Equitise which officially opens on 16 March.
