Digital payments platform company IOUpay has appointed two senior executives, as the company gears up for its expansion into the BNPL sector in Asia.

Fintech company IOUpay (ASX:IOU) is on the fast-track for growth in its core market of Malaysia as well as regional south-east Asia.

And to assist with its expansion plans, the company announced today that it’s appointed two new senior executives — Eddie Lee as chief commercial officer, and Calvin Yeap as chief marketing officer.

The move comes a few weeks after IOUpay completed a $50m share placement, which reflected strong appetite among sophisticated investors to help fund the company’s strategic regional growth opportunity.

Chief Commercial Officer

Lee’s chief responsibility will be the commercial development of IOUpay’s business across the southeast Asia region, where he has a proven track record driving revenue growth through the development of partnerships with large brands and merchants.

Lee has 20 years of experience in the business development, country-wide management and corporate leadership across multiple fintech sectors including online payments, online data management and advertising industries.

His previous work positions include country manager for a Malaysia-listed online publishing and advertising company, Innity Corporation, and president of iPay88 Philippines where he grew its online payments business to more than 5,000 merchants across 20 industries.

Lee has a Master of e-Business degree from the University of Southern Queensland.

Chief Marketing Officer

Yeap joins IOUpay as its chief marketing officer, and has 15 years’ experience in digital marketing, corporate communication and stakeholder engagement across southeast Asia.

Before his move to IOUpay, Yeap was head of the community and industry partnership team at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, a Malaysian government agency.

Yeap has also held senior positions with global travel technology company Amadeus, leading its Malaysian operations for five years as head of operations and marketing, and as head of marketing for iPay88 and as head of its global payments services division.

He successfully launched iPay88 in Bangladesh, Cambodia and Thailand, and has worked for the company in Indonesia, India, Singapore and Vietnam.
