• Live Verdue transforms into AI-first company with Decidr
  • The tech is designed to make AI affordable for small businesses
  • Decidr is aiming to revolutionise companies’ operations

Special Report:  Live Verdure (ASX:LV1) tech company Decidr is set on changing the way small businesses access and use AI, by making powerful tools affordable and scalable for all.

When we think about artificial intelligence (AI) in business, it’s not hard to imagine huge corporations employing powerful but costly models.

What AI company Decidr is focused on, however, is enabling small businesses to access similar tech at a fraction of the cost.

LV1 has been known for operating in the health and wellness sector, with popular products including Edible Beauty 13 Seeds.

While this sector continues to generate revenue for LV1, the Board made the strategic decision to acquire Decidr – a platform with the potential to transform small businesses across multiple sectors.

David Brudenell, a seasoned entrepreneur with a background in startups, technology, and enterprise AI recently shifted gears into the role of Executive Chairman at LV1.

Brudenell explained the evolution of LV1 into an AI-first company.

“Rather than just being a health and wellness business, LV1 is now evolving into an AI-first company.

“It just so happens we have businesses in the beauty and wellness space, where we’re applying this technology to level them up.”

Chatting… up

LV1 recently conducted a successful proof of concept (POC) with Edible Beauty, deploying Decidr’s AI-powered sales agent, “Ava”, to optimise customer interactions on the brand’s e-commerce platform.

Over a month of full deployment, Ava significantly outperformed the human-powered chat system Live Verdue was using, driving a 52% increase in chat-initiated orders for the product.

“We had some pretty remarkable results when we initiated that first proof of concept with Edible Beauty,” said Brudenell.

“People shop 24 hours a day, but you can’t have staff 24 hours a day. Even if you wanted to, it would be very costly because you need at least three people on staff to man it.

“It was a perfect application for Decidr to build a native, intelligent agent that could do the function of a human but at a fraction of the cost.”

Simple, but game-changing

Ava engages customers in conversational interactions, answers questions, offers personalised recommendations and handles inquiries around the clock.

“Ava is a natural language interface, so it’s like chatting with a real person,” noted Brudenell.

“You can ask it things like, ‘What’s your cheapest product?’ or ‘How does this compare to a competitor?’ and it will respond in a nuanced, human-like way, using the same tone as the business owner.”

Ava is designed to continuously learn and adapt with every interaction, growing smarter over time and delivering increasingly relevant, tailored responses.

The idea is that what starts out as a simple customer support tool could quickly evolve into what is effectively an indispensable sales driver.

Brudenell said the idea behind Decidr is simple, but game-changing:

Rather than relying on expensive, bespoke AI models, Decidr provides a low-cost, scalable solution that can quickly integrate into a business’s core operations.

“Small businesses don’t have the resources to build custom AI models. You’re talking about huge costs for data preparation and normalisation, which are prohibitive for most companies,” he explained.

“Decidr takes care of those costs by applyinig our technology in we call an ‘AI Parallel,’ which allows us to create AI models quickly and affordably across most areas of business operations.”

The AI Parallel technology is built to enable multiple AI agents to autonomously perform different tasks at once – such as customer support, sales, operational activities and data collection.

Brudenell noted that it can automate up to 80% of business tasks, covering areas like marketing, logistics, and finance, and that it can function without the need for traditional training, no matter the sector.

“We don’t need to train these agents in the traditional sense,” Brudenell explains.

“Once you deploy these agents into your business data, they quickly become intelligent, thanks to the high-context data already available in a business.”

Eyeing the global SME market

Brudenell points out that there are 60 million small businesses in the Western world alone – an untapped market that Decidr is aiming to serve.

Although Decidr’s first major use case was in the beauty industry, the platform’s flexibility means it can be applied to virtually any sector.

Take recruitment, for example. Decidr has already begun working with HR companies including CareerOne and Elmo, applying its AI tech to match candidates with job opportunities.

Brudenell points out that these two HR platforms already serve thousands of businesses globally, and integrating Decidr’s AI capabilities directly into those platforms gives Decidr access to a massive audience.

The LV1 boss said he now keen to expand Decidr’s reach to a broader range of SMEs, particularly those on Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.

“We’re just scratching the surface. There are so many opportunities to apply Decidr AI in new areas across the globe.”

Full AI business suite

Looking to ramp things up with a full suite of AI-powered business apps, Decidr recently unveiled five apps that sit on top of its platform, each designed to address a specific area of business, from customer service to finance, procurement, and HR.

These apps, which include an AI-powered sales assistant, AI ghostwriter, and AI search engine, are just the beginning, said the company.

During Decidr’s inaugural Discovery Day held in Sydney in October, the company showcased the apps to a global audience of over 1,300 registrants.

Over the next year, Decidr will continue to roll out additional apps across all business functions.

By 2025, Decidr’s vision is to offer a full, off-the-shelf AI business solution – a bit like buying a laptop that already has an operating system and pre-installed apps for your needs.

“Imagine a future where you can buy a full AI-powered business.”
