The board appointments follow two impressive executive hires in recent months, as industry veterans take the opportunity to add value to the company’s exciting growth strategy.

Environmental tech company Envirosuite (ASX:EVS) has announced two more key staff hires as it builds out a tech experienced board to complement its strong executive team.

The company announced yesterday that two non-executive directors – Stuart Bland and Tim Ebbeck – will join the board on March 1. And today announced that Jason Cooper will join the board as Managing Director.

Both appointees bring extensive experience in executive roles and board advisory positions to Envirosuite, as the company enters an exciting growth phase in global markets.

Stuart Bland, FCA

Bland’s executive experience includes 14 years as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at $2bn financial services technology company IRESS (ASX:IRE).

He has more than 30 years of industry experience, including a number of senior roles in global SaaS businesses with high growth rates.

Along with fintech, Bland’s direct industry experience spans multiple sectors including defence, sports, communications and biotechnology.

Tim Ebbeck

Ebbeck is another senior executive who has held a number of leadership roles in large tech industries, including as CEO (Australia/New Zealand) for global software giant Oracle.

He also held the CEO role for ANZ at $140bn software conglomerate SAP, along with CFO roles Unisys South Pacific and TMP Worldwide and as Chief Commercial Officer at NBN Co.

Ebbeck is a non-executive director at two other ASX-listed tech firms — ReadyTech Ltd (RDY.ASX) and XPON Technologies Ltd (XPN.ASX) – and holds a number of other advisory positions.

Jason Cooper

Along with Ebbeck and Bland, EVS also announced this morning that CEO Jason Cooper will also join the board as Managing Director.

Cooper’s new appointment will allow for further integration among the group’s most senior staff, after he successfully executed on a number of key growth initiatives as CEO.

Since becoming CEO in March 2021, Cooper’s achievements include the integration of water modelling R&D technology software company AqMB Holdings Pty Ltd, which EVS acquired in August 2020 for $1.35m.

Cooper has also successfully commercialised the EVS Water vertical, and built out the EVS executive team with the appointment of leading candidates to the COO and CFO roles.

Under Cooper’s leadership, EVS has now “positioned the product suite for scaling across EVS Aviation, EVS Omnis and EVS Water”, the company said.

“On behalf of the Board we welcome Jason as Managing Director and we look forward to continuing the strong positive working relationship that we enjoy between board and management that will be further fuelled by the recent key appointments,” EVS chairman David Johnstone said.

Strength of management

The new board appointments will complement other recent strong additions to Envirosuite’s team, as it puts a management team in place commensurate with its global scale-up plans.

Last month, the company hired leading tech executive Justin Owen as Chief Financial Officer, following on from the appointment of US-based enviro-tech entrepreneur Aaron Lapsley to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Commenting on the new appointments, EVS Chairman David Johnstone said the extensive management and advisory experience of Ebbeck and Bland will add further value to the “excellent group of people that we have across the Company”.

Along with the recent executive hires, Johnstone said all directors and management will “continue to work closely together to capitalise on our many growth opportunities”.
