- ClearVue’s Solar Vision Glass Generation 3 delivers 66% more energy generation in independent testing
- Processing time for double-glazed unit cut more than half, reducing production costs and enabling rapid scalability
- Latest generation has less component parts, reducing silicon waste, aluminium and carbon impact
Special Report: Leader in environmentally sustainable building solutions ClearVue Technologies (ASX:CPV) has unveiled its third-generation Solar Vision Glass, with independent testing showing a 66% uplift in power per square metre than its predecessor.
The testing was conducted by the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), part of the National University of Singapore, with Solar Vision Glass Generation 3 also delivering step-change gains in production efficiency and cost reduction.
Processing time for a double-glazed unit has been cut by more than half, from ~5 minutes to ~2 minutes, enabling scalable manufacturing at materially lower cost.
At the same time, streamlined engineering cuts components from 17 to just seven.
ClearVue said this not only reduced silicon waste and removed the use of aluminium and several other raw materials but also lowered carbon impact to make production environmentally cleaner.
ClearVue powers energy-efficient façades
As governments and industries accelerate decarbonisation, ClearVue is at the forefront of the global energy transition.
ClearVue integrates solar technology into glass for façades, rooftops and other building surfaces, generating clean energy while preserving transparency and design.
Its patented products extend to cladding, balustrades, skylights and more, helping offset energy use and support net-zero building outcomes, offering ready-to-use technology that meets green building standards.
Solar Vision Glass Generation 3 can be supplied as single, double or triple glazing, or integrated with LandVac Vacuum Glass.
The product can be made in different sizes and glass thicknesses, with coating options that improve energy efficiency and appearance to meet modern architectural and façade standards.
Accelerates path to large-scale commercialisation
Managing director and CEO Doug Hunt said that in the past 12 months, ClearVue had focused on reengineering its Solar Vision Glass to boost performance, reduce components, enhance solar technology, and improve flexibility and manufacturability.
“The dedication and expertise of our operations, engineering and R&D leaders have delivered significant innovations in our building façade solutions,” he said.
“Independent validation from SERIS confirms that Generation 3 offers higher power generation.
“Trial manufacturing has proven faster and lower-cost production due to streamlined engineering.”
The advancements, he said, would help ClearVue customers offset more of their building operational energy use while further shortening payback periods.
“We anticipate full certification testing to take around six months, starting in October 2025,” Hunt said.
However, as the core technologies were already certified in the second-generation product and with typical project lead times of four to six months, he said the third generation would be incorporated into commercial proposals immediately.
“This step change positions ClearVue with a distinct competitive advantage and materially accelerates our path to large-scale commercialisation.”
“ClearVue continues to deliver innovative, high-performance solar glass solutions for both commercial and residential applications — seamlessly integrating clean energy generation with world-class architectural design.”
Hunt said more technical upgrades and new products would be announced soon, strengthening ClearVue’s position as a leader in building-integrated solar glass.
He added that the company remains focused on making its technology easier to adopt while increasing the value it delivers to customers
