Special Report: Animoca Brands has executed on another element of its rollup strategy, buying a well-established French game developer from Engine Gaming & Media (NASDAQ: GAME).

Eden Games is a highly respected and successful racing game studio – meaning it’ll fit in well with its new owner, which is developing an ecosystem of racing titles that use the REVV crypto token.

Eden’s titles include: “Need for Speed: Porsche Unleased”, F1 Mobile Racing, and the franchises Gear Club, as well as Test Drive and V-Rally.

Founded in 1998, Eden has sold over 13 million game boxes, while its apps have been downloaded over 60 million times.

Its Gear Club racing simulator served as the primary racing game qualifier for World’s Fastest Gamer, an e-sports TV show that was seen by more than 400 million households worldwide.

Eden also has long-term partnerships with over 30 established brands in the automotive industry, including BMW, Bugatti, Porsche, Lotus, Pagani and others. Linkedin lists it as having 88 employees, based mostly in Lyon.

Animoca plans to integrate Eden’s titles into the REVV Motorsport ecosystem and provide utility to owners of F1 Delta Time NFTs. Animoca had to shut F1 Delta Time down last month failing to renew its licence.

David Nadal, the co-founder and head of studio of Eden Games, said the Lyon-based company was looking forward to its next chapter.

“We look forward to producing new experiences that challenge the status quo within the motorsport genre and venture into new frontiers such as Web3 alongside a leader in the space.”

Eden’s newest title is “Gear.Club Stradale,” an exclusive to Apple Arcade that is getting glowing reviews online. There are versions for iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple TV.
